FLORIDA, FL, UNITED STATES, August 12, 2026 /EINPresswire.com/ -- Candy Digital’s second 2026 MLB Gold Series ICONs release, Next Gen, concluded today on candy.io, with all 36 packs claimed in 22 minutes for a total of $29,000 by 18 lucky collectors. Every pack contained six Gold Series ICONs with at least one Epic, and a 1-in-6 chance of a Legendary. Select packs carried a seventh bonus ICON: either a Pete Crow-Armstrong Pixicon Insert /5 or an Elly De La Cruz Momenticon Insert /5.

THE CANDY DIGITAL REVERSE AUCTION

Next Gen was sold through the Candy Digital Reverse Auction, a descending-price format. The price opened at $2,000 and stepped down $100 every 60 seconds while packs remained, and collectors could claim a pack at the displayed price at any point. Every participant saw the same price, the same pack count and the same countdown at the same time.

"Two auctions, in an exciting new format, with two quick sell-outs, and our collectors driving both," said Matt Novogratz, co-founder of Candy Digital. "We look forward to leading the digital collecting space through new ways to collect and premium dual-licensed products with MLB and the MLBPA."

"Auction houses have always paid close attention to careers at the beginning," said Tad Smith, CEO of Candy Digital. "Candy is building the place where those beginnings are documented properly."
